Abstract
This report presents an approach for migrating from a relational database to an object-oriented database An object-oriented schema has been derived from a relational schema, introducing required features such as classes, encapsulation, inheritance, and behaviour. A transformation of a relational database and its application to an object-oriented database used by taxonomists has been achieved in order to test the reliability of this work.
